Acrylic sheet is extremely versatile and can be used in numerous ways. It is resistant to water, aqueous salt solutions, alkalis and most dilute acids. It is also resistant to most detergents and common household substances, but is however attached by most organic solvents. It is a good thermal insulator whilst being tough and durable. Conventional woodworking or metal tools can be used and it can be heat bent or shaped and cemented.
A range of coloured and tinted acrylic is available in flat sheet and round rod & tube are available in clear. Acrylic can be heat bent and polished following cutting and machining.
